Comply your products the legal maximum levels for inorganic arsenic and total arsenic?

Until now, only maximum levels for inorganic arsenic in rice and rice products were regulated in the EU. At the beginning of March, new maximum levels for inorganic arsenic for various product groups such as baby food, fruit juices and fruit nectars as well as a new maximum level for total arsenic in salt were published in Regulation (EU) 2023/465.

The Regulation entered into force on 26 March 2023 and is directly applicable in all Member States. Food lawfully placed on the market before the entry into force of the Regulation may remain on the market until the expiry of its date of minimum durability or use-by date.

Our analytical methods enable you to detect arsenic in food in compliance with the new legislation.

In addition to the analysis of the total arsenic content with ICP-MS, we also offer the specific analysis of arsenic species (inorganic or organic arsenic). For this purpose, after acid extraction the arsenic species are separated by HPLC and detected by ICP-MS. Our competent team at ifp ensures for you that your products comply with the current and future legal requirements.
