GM foods: ifp becomes Non-GMO Project and VLOG partner lab

ifp is further expanding its activities in the field of GMO detection in food and feed. We have now also been listed as a GMO laboratory by the US Non-GMO Project and by the German VLOG (Association Food without Genetic Engineering).

VLOG (www.ohnegentechnik.org) is committed to GMO-free food production. The Association is known to the public since it manages and awards the German “Ohne Gentechnik” (no genetic engineering) label. This seal can be requested by companies of the food industry on a voluntary basis, and its awarding criteria are based on national regulation.

The Non-GMO Project (www.nongmoproject.org) is a US non-profit organization which evolved from a cooperation of The Natural Grocery Company and the Big Carrot Natural Food Market in 2005. The project, which is also committed to raising consumer awareness for GMO, is America’s only third-party verification body for the labelling of GMO-free food and products. Currently approximately 35,000 products have undergone verification by the Non-GMO Project.

With ifp being a Non-GMO Project approved laboratory, manufacturers of GMO-free products targeting the US market can now call on our analytical services if they wish to meet the requirements of the above mentioned verification process.
