ISO/IEC 17020 accreditation for hygiene and allergen inspection services
ifp Institut für Produktqualität has received the ISO/IEC 17020 accreditation, which puts it in a position to offer hygiene and allergen management inspections to the food, hotel and restaurant industry as an accredited service.
This underlines the institute’s the long-standing expertise in hygiene management and in the field of food allergens. Against the background of the Food Information Regulation, which will come into force on 13 Dec. 2014 and will require allergen labelling also for non-prepacked foods, the newly offered accredited inspection services will provide an added value for the businesses concerned.
The accreditation refers to inspections in the field of hygiene and allergen management in food production facilities, the hotel and restaurant sector as well as in catering and care facilities. It also covers sampling and testing of environmental samples and on-site detection of allergens by means of immunological rapid tests.
In 2013 ifp was authorized to be an official trainer for the internationally recognized allergen management concept VITAL 2.0. ifp offers customized training and inspection services for allergen and hygiene management on request.
